On Chromecast with Google TV and the Google TV Streamer, install an IPTV app like TiviMate directly from Google Play. On older cast-only Chromecasts, play IPTV on your phone in an app with casting support (such as GSE Smart IPTV or IPTV Smarters) and tap the Cast icon.
Chromecast with Google TV / Google TV Streamer
These are full Android TV devices with a remote. Setup is the same as any Android TV:
- Open Google Play and install TiviMate or IPTV Smarters Pro.
- Add playlist → Xtream Codes → enter your IPTVMaple login.
- Watch with a full TV guide.
Tip: storage is limited on the Chromecast with Google TV — keep only the apps you use.
Older Chromecast (cast-only)
- Install an IPTV app with Chromecast support on your phone.
- Log in with your IPTV details.
- Start a channel and tap the Cast icon, then choose your Chromecast.
Casting depends on your phone and Wi-Fi. For daily viewing, an upgrade to a Google TV device or Firestick is worth it.
Which Chromecast do you have?
| Device | Runs apps like TiviMate? | How to watch IPTV |
|---|---|---|
| Google TV Streamer | Yes (Android TV based) | Install TiviMate or Smarters from Google Play |
| Chromecast with Google TV | Yes | Same as above |
| Older Chromecast (no remote) | No, cast only | Cast from a phone app; quality depends on Wi-Fi |
For a Google TV device, follow the steps in the Android TV guide. If you only have a cast-only Chromecast, a Firestick is a better long-term choice: see TiviMate on Firestick. More: which devices TiviMate supports.
Chromecast IPTV in short
“Chromecast iptv”, “iptv google chromecast” and “gse iptv chromecast” differ by device. A Chromecast with Google TV is an Android TV device and can run TiviMate directly. An older Chromecast has no apps: you cast from a phone using an app that supports casting, such as GSE Smart IPTV or Smarters Player Lite. Casting uses your phone as the remote, and the phone has to stay on.
