Roku doesn’t support most IPTV players: TiviMate, IPTV Smarters and similar apps are not in the Roku Channel Store, and Roku doesn’t allow installing outside apps. Your options are screen mirroring from an Android phone or Windows PC, or adding an inexpensive Fire TV Stick or Google TV device to the Roku TV’s HDMI port — the solution we recommend.
Why IPTV apps aren’t on Roku
Roku runs its own operating system and only allows apps (“channels”) approved in its store. Full-featured IPTV players with Xtream Codes support aren’t available there, and apps that appeared in the past were often removed.
Option 1 — Screen mirroring (free, basic)
- On the Roku, enable Settings → System → Screen mirroring.
- On an Android phone, open Quick Settings → Smart View / Cast / Screen cast and pick your Roku. On Windows, press Win + K.
- Play IPTVMaple in IPTV Smarters on the phone or computer.
Mirroring works but quality depends on your Wi-Fi, and your phone must stay on. iPhones can’t mirror to most Roku devices without AirPlay support.
Option 2 — Add a streaming stick (recommended)
Plug a Fire TV Stick 4K or a Google TV device into a free HDMI port on your Roku TV. Switch inputs and you get TiviMate, a real TV guide and 4K — for less than one month of cable.
