To watch IPTV on VLC, open VLC, go to Media β Open Network Stream (Windows) or File β Open Network (Mac), paste your M3U playlist URL and press Play. Your channels load as a playlist. VLC is free, but it has no TV guide β for that use IPTV Smarters or Kodi.
Play IPTV in VLC on Windows
- Install VLC from the official VideoLAN website.
- Open VLC and click Media β Open Network Stream.
- Paste your IPTVMaple M3U link and click Play.
- Press Ctrl + L to show the playlist and pick a channel.
Play IPTV in VLC on Mac
- Open VLC and choose File β Open Network.
- Paste the M3U URL and click Open.

VLC on Android and iPhone
The VLC mobile app can open a network stream the same way (More β New stream). For a better mobile experience with a guide, use IPTV Smarters Pro or Smarters Player Lite.
Limitations of VLC for IPTV
- No electronic program guide (EPG)
- Large playlists (tens of thousands of channels) load slowly
- No separate movies/series library
VLC is perfect for a quick test or occasional viewing on a laptop. For daily use see our IPTV on PC & Mac guide.
